Where to Shop

When it comes to shopping, there is SO much choice in Sloane Square!  The best place to start is at Duke of York Square, which offers an unrivalled range of international retailers, leading restaurant and cafes, alongside the iconic Saatchi Gallery. No other location in London offers the wonderful diversity and choice, all set in a stunning oasis of elegance, exclusivity and history.  You could quite easily spend the day here, shopping at stores such as L.K. Bennett, Joseph, Whistles and Links of London.  Take a light lunch in one of the excellent bistros and maybe spend a cultural afternoon at The Saatchi Gallery.

Taking pride of place on Sloane Square itself is Peter Jones.   This department store, which occupies an entire island site on the west side of Sloane Square, was built between 1932 and 1936 to designs by William Crabtree.  The building is the first modern-movement use of the glass curtain wall in Britain and is now a Grade II* listed building.   Having undergone a huge refurbishment in 2004, Peter Jones is now a great, modern department store, stocking a wide range of fashion labels, home wares, plus a fabulous beauty department with ranges such as Laura Mercier and Chanel.

On Sloane Street (at the Sloane Square end), you will find some of the most exclusive and revered designer boutiques in London including the world famous jeweller Tiffany, Stella McCartney and many more!  From designer handbags, couture fashion and gorgeous accessories, Sloane Street offers an intimate and relaxed shopping atmosphere.

Where to Eat

Whether you are looking for an artisan bistro, an award winning restaurant or an intimate cocktail bar, you will find that you are spoilt for choice in Sloane Square!

If you are staying at Cheval Phoenix House, you can pop right next door to the wonderful Canvas by Michael Riemenschneider.  Indulge in a delicious variety of flavours and construct your own tasting menu!  You choose how many courses (from just 1 to 16 depending on how adventurous or hungry you’re feeling!), along with your favourite dishes.  This is the ultimate in bespoke gastronomy, which you can tailor to suit your own personal tastes!  You can of course just enjoy a quick drink at the fab experimental cocktail bar!

The Botanist is a very cool place to have lunch, dinner or indeed, sip champagne cocktails.   Located on Sloane Square itself, this is a very cool and trendy venue for dining with friends.   The dining room is a handsome mix of art-deco chandeliers, back-lit botanical prints and contemporary Scandi furniture. The menu is international and showcases top British produce along the way.  The cocktail bar is chic, cool and never fails to please.

Talking of cocktails, if you are looking for an intimate, elegant and cosy cocktail bar you must pay a visit to No. 11 Cadogan Gardens, a hidden gem of a boutique hotel tucked away just behind Sloane Square.   This stunning bar is chic, comfortable and fabulously glamorous!  It’s a great place to snuggle up with your loved one and enjoy a pre-dinner drink or two.

For lunch, we can highly recommend one of the great bistros in Duke of York Square.   There are several to choose from and you can dine inside in the winter months or enjoy long, leisurely lunches outside in the summer sunshine.   A great lunch venue after a morning shopping!
